**Short answer:** Laundry detergent sheets are thin, pre-measured sheets of concentrated detergent. You drop a sheet in the drum with your clothes, it dissolves in water, and the detergent cleans the load like liquid or powder would. Because the sheet holds no extra water, a pack is flat, light and free of a plastic jug.

## How laundry detergent sheets work

A detergent sheet (also called a laundry sheet, laundry strip or eco sheet) is a full dose of concentrated laundry detergent that has been dried and pressed into a thin strip. A water-soluble binder holds the cleaning ingredients together, so the sheet keeps its shape in the pack and releases the detergent as soon as it meets water.

Spot Detergent Sheets dissolve in under 60 seconds, in cold, warm or hot water, so nothing is left in the drum or on your clothes. The cleaning agents then do the same job as the surfactants in a capful of liquid: they lift dirt and oil from fabric and rinse away.

## What is in a detergent sheet?

The formula is plant-based, free of parabens, phosphates, 1,4-dioxane and added dyes, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested.
