**Short answer:** No. Do not put laundry detergent sheets, including Spot, in a dishwasher. Laundry detergent is made to lift dirt from fabric, not to clean dishes, and it can foam and leave residue in a machine built for low-sudsing dishwasher detergent. Use detergent made for dishwashers in your dishwasher, and save Spot sheets for the washing machine, the sink or the laundromat.

### Why laundry sheets do not belong in a dishwasher

- Different job. Laundry detergent is made to release dirt and oil from fabric fibers. Dishwasher detergent is made for food, grease and glassware in a spray of hot water.
- Suds. Dishwashers are built for detergent that makes almost no foam. Extra suds can spill from the door and leave a film.
- Residue. Anything not made for dishes may leave a film on plates and cups that you then eat from.
